After a 16-year split, Fleetwood Mac has welcomed Christine McVie back into the fold and announced a North American tour. A year ago Stevie Nicks told Rolling Stone there was “more of a chance of an asteroid hitting the Earth” than McVie rejoining Fleetwood Mac. McVie, who quit the band in 1998, said her decision to return was largely due to her feeling isolated and depressed. “I had some deluded idea that I wanted to live the ‘country lady’ life,” she told Rolling Stone. But I went through a divorce and I felt isolated in the country. I grew quite ill and despressed.” The newly reunited Fleetwood Mac have announced a three-month tour of North America, which kicks off in September. Late last year the band were forced to cancel a tour of Australia and New Zealand due to bassist John McVie being diagnosed cancer. Fingers crossed this re-formed Fleetwood Mac make good on those cancelled dates.
