Dinosaur Jr. to Play The Gov in Early 2017

American alt-rockers Dinosaur Jr. will tour Australia in the new year, playing at Adelaide’s The Gov on Thursday, January 19.

The Give a Glimpse of Summer Australian tour will see Dinosaur Jr.’s original members J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph roll out classics and playing new tracks from their latest album, Give A Climpse of What Yer Not.

As with much of the band’s long catalogue of eleven albums Give A Glimpse of What Yer Not has received strong critical praise, with The Guardian calling it an “extravagantly brutish soup of sound,” and NME saying “there are plenty of strong reasons here to keep Dinosaur Jr from extinction.”

The crew who found  fame in the 90s for their unique brand of alternative, slacker rock, has built and maintained a strong fan base in Australia over the decades. After disbanding in 1997, Dinosaur Jr. regrouped in 2005 to great fanfare, and subsequently played niche Australian festivals, such as Golden Plains in 2013, and have consistently serviced their dedicated fans.
