The inaugural Scandinavian Film Festival is the coolest place to be this July as films from Sweden, Denmark,Norway, Finland and Iceland hit Australian screens.
Promising the best drama, crime and comedy of the region, Australian audiences will get to experience all the style, humour, action and mystery that Scandinavian film has to offer. Kicking things off is colourful Swedish comedy The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared – sadly not a documentary. Based on the international bestselling novel by Jonas Jonasson, it’s the surprising story of a 100-year-old man with an eventful past who constantly stumbles into extraordinary circumstances. Other titles in the nine-day program include the Easy Moneytrilogy from Sweden, Finnish director Taru Mäkelä’s Cold War comedy August Fools (Mieleton Elokuu), powerful Icelandic drama Metalhead (Málmhaus) and many more.
