Hot 100 Harvest First Round Announcement

Some of this state’s finest chefs and winemakers will showcase their wares at the upcoming Hot 100 Harvest; an all-day local food, wine and arts celebration that will take over the National Wine Centre grounds on Sunday, February 12.

Curated by celebrated chef and Hot 100 judge Duncan Welgemoed, the food of the Hot 100 Harvest will see two of Adelaide’s most celebrated street food exponents – Soi 38 and Comida – sell street-inspired Thai and Spanish plates while Homage de Fromage will prepare picnic baskets of charcuterie and cheese that will be available to buy on the day.

“Soi 38 and Comida are two of my favourite places to eat in Adelaide while Steph (Homage de Fromage) is a kick-arse local chef with impeccable taste,” Welgemoed says. “The food is perfect to match to the Hot 100 wines and to sit and chill on the lawns while listening to some talented Adelaide artists.”

Soi 38 is one of the city’s best Asian eateries, consistently delivering brilliant authentic Thai street food to Pulteney Street. It was one of the places instrumental in changing Adelaide’s perception of quality Thai food. Brad Sappenberghs’ Adelaide Central Market-based Comida, on the other hand, was called the perfect stall by the Australian for its highly addictive Spanish flavours.

Onto the wines, and past Hot 100 Wines winners, as well as some Hot 100 favourites, are among the first wineries to be announced for Hot 100 Harvest. The list is below:

The full-day event will present the winemakers responsible for the wines that have made the Hot 100 such a unique and groundbreaking wine show over the last 10 years, which means you’ll be able to taste finalist wines from 2007 through to 2016. Also featured on the day will be live entertainment, exhibitions, masterclasses and panel discussions.

Electric Fields and Sasha March lead the local music line-up. The rest of the live entertainment, as well as masterclass and panel discussion topics and speakers and the complete food offerings, will be announced in the coming weeks.
