First Coffee of the Year

Where to find caffeine on New Year’s Day 2017

Bar 9 Central

Adelaide Central Plaza
Open: 10:30am – 4pm

In the basement at Adelaide Central Plaza, Bar 9 Central will be waiting to refresh your weary heads. It’s cosy and climate controlled down there – a great place to retreat and welcome the first coffee of the year.

Local Grind
33 Warwick Street, Walkerville
Open 7am – 4pm (and 8am – 11am Christmas and Boxing day)

If a refreshing fruit juice and sit-down meal is more your style, then soak up a bit of sun at Local Grind. The venue is even kindly open on Christmas and Boxing day for a few hours to service espresso lovers.

Bond & Lane
1 Salisbury Crescent, Colonel Light Gardens
Open 9am – 2pm (same hours all other public holidays)

For southern suburb dwellers, there’s latte’s and brunch at cosy suburban café Bond & Lane. After you’ve filled up with caffeine and food, go for a bushwalk at Onkaparinga National Park.

Mr Pilgrim,
67 Semaphore Road, Semaphore
Open 8am – 4:30pm

New Year’s Eve by the beach sounds like a great idea, until you’re itching for some poached eggs and a flat white the next morning. Luckily Mr Pilgrim at Semaphore is open for brunch service from 8am. Perfect for a post-breakfast swim.

Pure Espresso
34 Jetty Road, Glenelg
Open 9am – 3pm

Down at ‘The Bay’, Pure Espresso will be open and servicing sore heads with coffee and lunch. The large capacity hopefully means no wait time. But plenty of revival options like cold brew, pour over and espresso are available for takeaway too.
