Gluttony to host East End Food and Wine Festival

The Gluttony experience is an Adelaide Fringe favourite and won’t disappoint this year with the Rymill Park venue hosting the East End Food and Wine Festival on Sunday, February 17 from 11am.

Festivalgoers are invited to enjoy a day full of tastings and demonstrations featuring some of the best South Australian and Australian wines. The East End Food and Wine Festival will feature white and red wine masterclasses, with cider and James Squire ale insights sure to educate the most alcohol savvy individuals. A wine bar offering more than 50 delectable drops from wineries including Peter Lehmann, Alpha Box & Dice, Wirra Wirra, Tin Shed, Pewsey Vale and Jansz will keep your hydration levels up while street performers and mellow tunes will entertain all day. Gluttony Director Daniel Michael said this was the perfect year to bring back a food and wine weekend with the cancellation of the Norwood Food and Wine Festival. “This will be a more boutique event than the famous Parade festival,” Michael said. “I think back to what the first few Norwood Food and Wine Festivals were like and that is more the vibe we are creating: just a great day in the park with music, friendly people and delicious food to try. We can’t wait.” To accompany the wine there will be global and local inspired selections of food including Edinburgh Festival’s Well Hung & Tender burgers and Cajun Moon, Rundle Street’s Kishi Sushi, Adelaide Hills’ Woodside Cheese Wrights and the mouth-watering vegetarian offerings of Source Gourmet. For the remainder of the Fringe season, crowds will be wowed with a selection of more than 80 cabaret, circus, comedy, children’s, dance, music and theatre acts performing at the quirky Gluttony performance spaces; Pig Tales, Pig Pen, The Piglet, The Runt and The Bally. Gluttony runs from Friday, February 15 until Sunday, March 17. Opening hours are 12pm Saturdays and Sundays (and Monday, March 11) and 5pm Tuesdays to Fridays with festivities lasting long into the night.
