South Australia’s Kingsford Homestead is one of the world’s hottest hotels according to Condé Nast Traveler magazine.
Each year Condé Nast Traveler; compiles a list of the world’s best new hotels and spas with Kingsford Homestead named as one of only four Australian hotels in 2013’s Condé Nast Traveler Hot List. The exclusive 154-strong list covers all strands of accommodation from the penthouses of modern skyscrapers to tented-camps in rural locations. Other Australian hotels that made Condé Nast’s list are the Berkeley River Lodge on the Kimberly Coast and Sydney’s Park Hyatt and QT Hotel. The Gothic-style Kingsford Homestead was built in 1856 as a private residency. The current owners converted the homestead, familiar to fans of McLeod’s Daughters that was filmed on location there, into a hotel in 2009. Kingsford’s specialties that were noted by the Condé Nast Traveler team include their alfresco bush bath and in-house chef.
