AICE Israeli Film Festival returns to Adelaide

World cinema lovers are lavished with choice as the Scandinavian Film Festival, the Korean Film Festival in Australia and now the AICE Israeli Film Festival all set Adelaide dates. Complex, turbulent and inspirational, the AICE Israeli Film Festival brings the best Israeli cinema direct to Australian audiences in the only national showcase of Israeli film. With a program that promises rollicking comedies, perceptive dramas, political documentaries and hot-blooded romance, the 11^th annual AICE Israeli Film Festival presents a diverse view of contemporary Israeli society. Produced by Palace Cinemas and the Australia Israel Cultural Exchange, the festival melds a kaleidoscope of stories from one of the most multi-racial nations in the world. The exciting selection of short and feature films on offer demonstrates the growing strength of Israeli cinema acknowledged across the globe. Hebrew-Arabic drama Self Made, which won the Camera D’Or prize at The Cannes International Film Festival in 2014, will open this year’s festival. Other highlights include caper comedy Kidon and political drama Sweets, the tale of a bloody war fought between Jewish and Palestinian candy tycoons. Closing the festival is engrossing documentary The Green Prince, which took out the Audience Award for World Cinema: Documentary at Sundance Film Festival this year.
