The Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA) is recruiting new volunteer Gallery Guides.
Expressions of interest are open until Wednesday, April 30 to be an AGSA Gallery Guide and join hundreds of volunteers at the South Australian institution to help bring art and people together. Gallery Guides provide a “diverse set of art-led learning experiences for culturally and socially diverse audiences including local, interstate and international visitors, school and university students, families, seniors, special interest groups and corporate supporters,” according to AGSA. Full training is provided. Initial training takes approximately a year as it is designed to balance the needs of the volunteer with those of AGSA. An induction course is provided, which “balances training in communication with information about art history and appreciation, the techniques used by artists and many insights into the workings of the Art Gallery”.
