Celebrating Australian wine

The country’s biggest celebration of wine, Aussie Wine Month, returns in May with events across Australia including Adelaide and the state’s wine regions. The month-long celebration will include city-based wine tastings, regional festivals, food and wine dinners and vineyard activities. With 150 events across the nation, (excluding Northern Territory), 22 will be held within Adelaide and across regional South Australia. d’Arenberg’s Chester Osborn is one of Aussie Wine Month’s ambassadors and he believes that Australian wine has always been highly regarded as “great value for money, which will only be enhanced as the exchange rate is making imported wines more and more expensive”. “Not to mention the great vintages we’ve just had – the reds are more flavour packed than usual, and will continue to get better with age,” he says. Langhorne Creek, the National Wine Centre and several wineries, including d’Arenberg, Oliver’s Taranga and Yalumba, will take part in the month-long celebration, allowing consumers to experience South Australian wine and produce at its finest. The event, now in its fourth year, aims to create excitement among Australian consumers, media, wine trade, restaurants, bars and key influencers in the Australian wine industry.
