The Lemonheads announce 2018 headline tour

The band that epitomised effortless ‘90s jangly indie pop,  The Lemonheads, will tour Adelaide, Melbourne, Wollongong and Sydney for stand-alone shows alongside their 2018 Day on the Green tour.

The sideshows will see The Lemonheads bring their blend of American power pop to major cities, accompanied by Jebediah in Sydney’s performance at Taronga Zoo, and Immigrant Union in Adelaide and Melbourne shows at the Corner Hotel and The Gov.

The South Australian leg of A Day on the Green was the only one not to include The Lemonheads in its lineup, so local fans of the band will be happy to see the group make it along under their own steam in March.

Led by frontman Evan Dando, The Lemonheads formed in 1986 and came to greater prominence in the 90s, with albums It’s a Shame About Ray (co-written by Smudge’s Tom Morgan) and Come on Feel The Lemonheads, which featured indie hits such as Big Gay Heart and Into Your Arms (written by Robyn St Clare of Hummingbirds fame). After a hiatus that lasted from 1998 until 2004, Dando reformed the band, releasing a self-titled LP in 2006 and the Varshons LP in 2009. An ever-changing lineup of band members has seen Dando remain as the one consistent member of The Lemonheads.
