In his first tour down under since 2014, Bob Dylan will wind his way east from Perth to play in Adelaide, then work through east coast cities before hopping the ditch for shows in Auckland and Christchurch.
Dylan has achieved a mythical status in the music world for a lifetime of consistent production and shifting styles. Since having released his first self-titled studio album in 1962, Dylan has produced more than 50 albums with his most recent release Triplicate seeing the light in 2017. Famously reclusive and non-conformist, Dylan has also received 11 Grammy awards, an Academy Award, a Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012 and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016.
Unsurprisingly, Dylan will mostly play arena shows throughout Australia and New Zealand. In Adelaide, he is slated to play in a new Botanic Park venue called the Grand Marquee. Described as “the most luxurious venue of its type ever seen in Adelaide” by Space Events’ Phil Rankine, the Grand Marquee will be a fully seated, heated space with an extensive food and drink offering.
Tickets for Bob Dylan’s Australia/New Zealand Tour go on sale from Wednesday, May 23, 9am local time.
