The Adelaide Youth Orchestra’s (AdYO) annual Youth Revolution Gala Concert will take place this Father’s Day (Saturday, September 1), boasting a line-up of 230 musicians, four orchestras, a guest soloist and a world premiere.
A near sell-out event for the past two years running, the Gala looks to be equally popular this year with a special appearance by internationally acclaimed soloist and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Natsuko Yoshimoto, the world premiere of a new work by an Elder Conservatorium of Music composition student and the inclusion of the Adelaide Youth Wind Orchestra in the program for the very first time.
Headlining the event will be the 80-piece Adelaide Youth Orchestra – comprising SA’s most talented young musicians aged 12 to 24 – who will be joined on stage by violinist Natsuko Yoshimoto.
“Having Natsuko at the Gala is a bonus not only for the audience, but for the young players in the Adelaide Youth Orchestra,” AdYO Artistic Director, Associate Professor Keith Crellin said in a press release. “We all look forward to being swept away by her performance.”
The Gala will also feature performances by the Adelaide Youth Sinfonia who will premiere a new work by Elder Conservatorium of Music composition student, Dylan Crismani, and the 60-piece Adelaide Youth Strings – AdYOs leading primary school-aged string orchestra.
