The SALA 2013 Festival will wrap up this Sunday, August 25 with a final day celebration for the whole family to enjoy.
SALA On Show, held at the Unley Shopping Centre on Unley Road, will offer a huge day of visual art activities and entertainment – there will be art works for sale, a pop-up gallery featuring the work of 50 SA artists, 20 artists in residence and free children’s workshops throughout the day. Hosted by the Art Gallery of SA stART program, the children’s workshop gives kids the opportunity to create their own works inspired by the Heartland exhibition, from 11am – 3pm at the Soldiers Memorial Garden. Visual artist and DJ Ruby Chew will be playing on the day, along with live performances from local bands including Carla Lippis, The Bearded Gypsy Band and The Hushes. Vacant Space and Bluethumb will also be showcasing the works of local artists, and Chimichurri Grill, ChurrOz and Great Relish vans will be offering delicious food and coffee.
