Calling all artists and graphic designers – the Adelaide Fringe is launching its annual poster competition, with entries open from Friday, July 25. This years’ theme ‘Experience something new’ is designed to fit with the 2015 Adelaide Fringe’s aim to encourage the audience to discover new acts and expand on their knowledge and past experiences of the Fringe. “We’ll be looking for an original poster design that is surreal, illogical, absurd, or an expression of absolute nonsense,” Adelaide Fringe Director, Greg Clarke said. The winning poster will feature as part of the 2015 Adelaide Fringe marketing material, and the winner will receive $2000 and free artist’s registration if they wish to stage an event or exhibition during next year’s Fringe. Artists and designers from around the world are invited to submit an entry for no cost. Designs can be in any medium or art form such as digital, illustration, painting, sculpture or photography, but the final entry must be two-dimensional. Entries for the competition close at 5pm on Friday, September 5, and the winner will be notified by a panel of expert judges by Friday, September 12. The winning poster will be revealed to the public on Friday, October 24. To enter and for more details, visit adelaidefringe.com.au
