“After spending a huge chunk of this past year touring internationally we can’t wait to play shows in our own beautiful Australian backyard,” says The Living End’s Chris Cheney. “As anyone who’s ever gone to A Day on the Green knows, they’re always unique gigs but this one is extra special.”
Each of the bands made their mark in the 90s and became icons of the Australian alternative rock scene in that time. The lineup marks a continuation of A Day on the Green’s Oz-alt-nostalgic lineups, which have recently included Hoodoo Gurus, Violent Femmes, Jebediah, and Spiderbait, whose frontman Kram is excited to play the tour once more.
“We’re all so stoked be playing A Day on the Green again next year all around Australia,” Kram says. “The last time we did these shows the response was amazing and the gigs were so awesome. Thanks to the fans that came out and made these events so brilliant for us.”
Sadly, South Australian audiences will miss out on a performance from The Lemonheads, with Leconfield Wines being the only venue that the pop-rockers won’t appear at. Veruca Salt will also play two headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney amid the tour.
