Brookman has a diverse and storied history in the Australian arts scene, having been a director of the Adelaide Festival of Arts, a WOMAdelaide founder, and 11-year General Manager of the Sydney Theatre Company. He was appointed Executive Director of the State Theatre Company of SA in 2012 with his son Geordie Brookman (who will continue in his own role as Artistic Director), and overseen a diverse set of critically acclaimed productions in the company. Brookman was unavailable for comment at the time of publishing as he is currently en route to the UK for Things I Know to be True‘s London season, and the ‘Made in Adelaide’ arts delegation at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. statetheatrecompany.com.au
