As Pawnee’s stoic, anti-government government administrator Ron Swanson, Offerman helped create one of the most memorable sitcom characters of the 2010s. Since the show’s conclusion in 2015 he has appeared in FX’s Fargo series and 2016 McDonalds drama The Founder.
He has also continued to lean right on into his Ron Swanson persona with Making It, a craft program with former Parks & Recreation co-star Amy Poehler:
Described as an evening of “deliberative talking and light dance”, Offerman’s new show All Rise promises to be uplifting counter-point to the gruff charm he is better known for. “It’s a proper revival suggesting the existence of a higher power in the land than commerce, one that will cause you to pop, lock and rejoice! Come on down and hear the good news that will make you go jingle-jangle in your juice box,” Offerman says of the show.
Offerman last performed in Australia in 2016, bringing his show Full Bush to local audiences after a planned joint tour with wife and Will & Grace star Megan Mullaly was scrapped due to Mullally’s filming commitments. Mullally, by uncanny coincidence, will also be in Australia in June with her vaudeville punk band Nancy & Beth due to perform at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival from June 9.
Offerman will appear at Thebarton Theatre on Sunday, June 2.
