Walls of Wonderment will see King create four large–scale murals in Adelaide and its surrounds over the next 12 to 18 months, culminating in a documentary of the process produced by local filmmaker Aaron Schuppan.
With walls ranging from approximately 10 to 30 metres, the project is the first of its kind in Adelaide by a female street artist and the first of this scale to be independently managed and fundraised by a female street artist in Australia. Not only has King managed to secure a host of supporters but her Pozible campaign was funded entirely through donations from the local community and surpassed her $15,000 target.

King has a history of thinking big and creating opportunities for herself. In 2008, while working as a graphic designer, she founded Paperhorse Studios. With a vision for establishing a creative incubator for both artists and designers, over the subsequent two and half years it was embraced by Adelaide’s indie scene and youth culture, supporting the creative community with regular exhibitions and events.
In 2012, King refocussed her efforts on developing her arts practice and has since established a profile working across painting, illustration and street art producing bold, finely detailed portraits inspired by fashion photography and pop culture. Her hard work and persistence has resulted in a number of exciting opportunities, including representation with 19Karen in Brisbane.

In 2015, she was commissioned by Urban Walkabout to create the cover art for a number of their city guides and was subsequently named their 2015 National Illustrator. In 2016, she spoke at the Design Conference in Brisbane, painted at the Queensland Street Art Festival ‘First Coat’ and was awarded the Ed Tweddell six month residency at Central Studios to make a new body of work for exhibition at 19Karen.
