On Sunday 26 January, Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute will be holding their annual “Survival Day” concert and event
The event is to take place at Tandanya, both inside the building (main gallery, board room, café and retail shop) and in Tandanya Park (Rymill Park extension, on East Tce behind Tandanya).
The park will feature the main concert and cultural performances between 1pm and 6pm
Up to 15 stalls and acoustic music (between 1 – 6pm) will be housed within the main gallery space and an air-conditioned elders area / tea and coffee station will be set up in the Tandanya board room.
‘Survival Day’ embodies the reality that Indigenous cultures are strong, with much to be positive about, despite the negative effects of colonisation. The ‘Survival Day’ event is a presentation of this to the wider community through exhibition, dance, music and cultural sharing.
