Like Sydney Writers Festival earlier in the year, COVID-19 has forced Melbourne Writers Festival to take its 2020 festival online. Nevertheless, the literary festival has put together a strong week-long digital program that will kick off on Friday 7 August with an opening address from The Secret River author Kate Grenville.
The broader digital program features a thought-provoking mix of international authors including Say Nothing author Patrick Radden Keefe, How To Do Nothing author Jenny Odell and Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan.
There’s also a pretty incredible selection of local names throughout the program including Stella Prize-winner Jess Hill, Claire G Coleman, Omar Sakr, Anna Spargo-Ryan, Charlotte Wood, Jessie Tu, Laura Jean Mackay, Alison Whittaker, Clare Bowditch, Julia Gillard and Malcolm Turnbull.
PS. Did you know you can also stream the entire 2020 Adelaide Writers’ Week program online? You do now.
