Memories of Her Majesty Exhibition

While the historic façade of Her Majesty’s hangs bare over Grote Street while it awaits the completion of its multi-million dollar restoration, the Adelaide Festival Centre has put together a waltz down memory lane with a rich displayof costumes, memorabilia and photographs from the theatre’s 100 year history.

Alex the Astronaut

Like an antipodean Laura Marling with a love of space, Alex the Astronaut is part of a wave of emerging Australian singer-songwriters telling some timely truths. She’ll be joined by emerging Adelaide folk troupe Saint Jacques.

With David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef Dive, Adelaideans will be able to take a virtual reality (VR) 360-degree underwater tour of one of the seven natural wonders of the world with the great Sir David Attenborough as their personal guide.

Prohibition Gin masterclass on the Popeye

Prohibition Gin are hopping aboard the historic Popeye for what promises to be a very boozy pleasure cruise of the Torrens. The one and a half hour cruise includes a tasting of three gins along with a bar full of beer, wine and cider. Pro tip: ask the Captain for some weir trivia. Weirs are fascinating, especially with a few gins in you.

Eggfest
The Golden Wattle, 6pm

The crème egg of the crop of local alt country bands have been assembled for this Easter Sunday celebration of song at The Golden Wattle. The lineup includes Ricky Albeck, The Maraby Band, Allume and The San Sebastian – good eggs all round.

Quilty
Art Gallery of South Australia

Having opened at the height of the Adelaide Festival and Fringe season, it’s understandable if you have yet to visit the first major survey exhibition of Ben Quilty’s work. Open until June, the long weekend is a fine opportunity to explore the career of one of Australia’s most prominent living artists.

The Story So Far and Basement
