Hot 100 Harvest to celebrate the best of South Australia

To celebrate a decade of Hot 100 Wines, we introduce Hot 100 Harvest: the first all day Hot 100 event that will showcase South Australia’s most drinkable wines, as well as the best of South Australia, on Sunday, February 12 at the grounds of the National Wine Centre.

The full-day event will present the winemakers responsible for the wines that have made the Hot 100 such a unique and groundbreaking wine show, which means you’ll be able to taste finalist wines from 2007 through to 2016. Also featured on the day will be live entertainment, exhibitions, masterclasses and panel discussions while Africola’s Duncan Welgemoed (pictured with Hot 100’s Mark Reginato and Tamrah Petruzzelli) will curate the day’s food offerings.

Electric Fields and Sasha March lead the local music line-up. The rest of the live entertainment as well as masterclass and panel discussion topics and speakers, chef line-up and food offerings will be announced in the coming weeks.

Over the past decade, the Hot 100 has been discovering the state’s most drinkable wines through blind tastings featuring wine experts from all the country, as well as some international taste buds. Mr Mick’s 2015 Novo Sangiovese was judged the most drinkable wine of 2016/17 while The Other Wine Co’s 2015 Grenache took out the top honour the season before. S.C Pannell’s 2005 Shiraz Grenache was the inaugural winner.

Aside from finding South Australia’s most drinkable drop, the Hot 100 also celebrates the best of the state’s gastronomic and artistic culture by immersing the judges into South Australian food and art experiences during the judging week. These experiences mean the Hot 100 is more than just a wine show; it is a celebration of the best of South Australia. The Hot 100 Harvest is a natural evolution of this celebration, as the public gets to experience the best of the state in one location.
