As much as I love and respect my Buddhist brothers and sisters, life needn’t be an endless cycle of suffering when there is a bottle of Riesling close at hand.
Seabrook is a famous name in the Australian wine industry having started one of the country’s most respected wine companies W.J Seabrook & Son in 1878. Their roots run deep.
Today, fifth generation and Barossa-based winemaker, Hamish Seabrook has brought the old label back to life and is producing some cracking wines from a number of South Australia’s wine regions.
The Judge Riesling is named after Hamish’s wife Joanne’s (née Marshall) late grandfather, the Honorable John Marshall. It’s a wine that highlights the strength of the Eden Valley vintage and the character of the variety and region that we all love: stunning fruit purity, tension between fruit and acidity and that crisp, limey, lip-smacking goodness that is so endearing to all Riesling freaks.
It is, of course, delicious to drink now, but you know it will just blossom with a few years in the cellar. And should your travels take you to the Barossa, make sure you check out their lovely little cellar door.
