Clare Valley winemaking brothers win Young Gun of Wine award

Winemaking siblings Damon and Jono Koerner have claimed the top prize at the 2019 Young Gun of Wine Awards.

The pair were jointly named Young Gun of Wine in recognition of their 2018 Grace Riesling and 2018 La Corse red wine. The brothers started Koerner Wine in 2014, continuing the family tradition of their parents Christine and Anthony Koerner of Clare Valley vineyard Gullyview – where the brothers source much of their fruit.

The Melbourne-based Young Gun of Wine Awards recognises emerging talent in the Australian wine industry, picked by a judging panel that includes Mona’s Pip Anderson, Gourmet Traveller’s Nick Stock and past winners Josephine Perry of Dormilona and Rob Mack of Aphelion Wine Co.
