Last week we unveiled the Top 10 of our annual Hot 100 Wines, with the Clare Valley’s Shut The Gate Wines taking out pole position with their 2019 For Love Watervale Riesling.
The Top 10 also featured strong showings from Redheads Wines (#2), Tomfoolery Wines (#4 and #7), and The Stoke Wines, whose 2019 Pétillant Naturel came in at #8 while also scoring the Tafe SA New To The Game award.
The full Hot 100 Wines list includes familiar heavy hitters like D’Arenberg, Leconfield Coonawarra and Seppeltsfield, and the return of past Hot 100 winners such as The Other Wine Co., Yalmba, Mr Mick and S.C. Pannell. McLaren Vale winery Three Dark Horses picked up no less than three spots in the Hot 100, and earned the inaugural Jaymel award for Best Performing Producer.
But, perhaps most importantly, this year’s list once again features a trove of new and emerging winemakers who we’re sure we haven’t seen the last of.
